Special Education Teacher –High School (ELA or Math Support)

Location: Avon, MA
Pay Rate: $45–$50+ per hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 32.5–35 hours/week
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role
Phaxis Education is seeking a High School Special Education Teacher to support students in ELA or Math inclusion/resource settings.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong instructional skills, the ability to implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborate with general education staff, and foster student academic and social development.

This role includes working with a small caseload, delivering direct instruction, accommodations, and progress monitoring to ensure student success in core academic content.
Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students requiring ELA or Math academic intervention

  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals

  • Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to individual learning needs

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and school teams

  • Track student progress and adjust supports accordingly

  • Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications

  • Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching License (required)

  • Minimum 2 years of classroom experience preferred (new grads considered)

  • Experience with high school students strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting ELA or Math inclusion/resource instruction is a plus

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Passion for working with students with diverse needs
