Pay Rate: $30–$35 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role
We are seeking dedicated Assistant Teachers to join our Early Childhood and Head Start programs. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate with lead teachers to create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of children ages birth to five.

You’ll work closely with colleagues and families to ensure each child’s unique needs are met, while contributing to a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.
Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing daily lessons and activities

  • Provide individualized attention to students as needed

  • Assist with classroom routines, including attendance, recordkeeping, and group activities

  • Observe and document children’s behavior and developmental progress

  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized learning environment

  • Engage positively with families and participate in team meetings

  • Step in as substitute coverage when the Lead Teacher is absent
Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)

  • Teacher Assistant Certification (preferred)

  • Experience working with young children (Early Childhood, Head Start, or Special Education setting)

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children

  • CPR/First Aid certification (preferred)

  • New grads with relevant practicum or childcare experience are welcome to apply

Location: New York, NY & Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
