Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Fairhaven, MA
Pay Rate: $50/hour+ (negotiable based on experience)

As a K-5 school-based Special Education Teacher in Fairhaven, MA, your days will include:

  • Developing and delivering individualized instruction based on IEP goals

  • Adapting curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet student needs

  • Implementing ABA-based strategies and structured classroom supports for students with ASD

  • Managing classroom behavior using positive supports and interventions

  • Collaborating with related service providers, general education teachers, and families

  • Participating in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and parent conferences

  • Maintaining compliance with IDEA, state, and district regulations regarding special education

Job Details

  • Position: Contract (option to renew) in a school setting

  • Dates: August 25, 2025 –June 12, 2026

  • Hours: Full-time, 35 hours/week (8: 15 AM –3: 22 PM)

  • Caseloads:

    • ASD K-2: 9 students, 2 paraprofessionals + floating RBT

    • ASD 3-5: 9 students, 4 paraprofessionals + floating RBT

  • Setting: Self-contained ASD sub-separate classrooms

  • Interview: Virtual

  • On-Site Requirement: This is an in-person role —virtual or hybrid candidates will not be considered

  • Funding: Flexible based on candidate experience

Successful Candidates Possess

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education (required)

  • MA Special Education Certification (required)

  • ASD background in elementary school settings (preferred)

  • Experience in a pediatric or school setting (preferred)

  • Ability to work in the U.S. Without sponsorship

  • Note: New graduates will be considered

Drew is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of Services & Recruitment experience. In that time, he has supported numerous Fortune 100/500/1000 organizations across industries by providing global workforce solutions, namely resources and thought leadership for large-scale projects, implementations, and managed services.

Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
