About the Role
The Controller will manage all aspects of accounting operations, including oversight of a small finance team, monthly and annual close processes, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This position plays a critical role in supporting management with the financial insights needed to drive business decisions and ensure the continued success of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a 2-person accounting team.

  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements and KPI reporting.

  • Assist in preparation and analysis of annual budgets, forecasts, and departmental financial performance.

  • Manage cash flow, payments, and banking relationships to ensure financial stability and efficiency.

  • Review payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger activities for accuracy and compliance.

  • Coordinate with external tax advisors on annual filings and compliance.

  • Maintain our ERP System, and work to improve the functionality of the ERP system companywide.

  • Develop and improve internal accounting processes to increase accuracy, efficiency, and control.

  • Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including GL, AR, AP, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of ERP Systems.

  • Experience with project-based or professional services accounting strongly preferred.

  • CPA credential preferred.
