Job Description

Must Have Qualifications:
Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) or CASAC-T or LCSW with three (3) to five (5) years of substance abuse counseling experience. Experience with individuals with HIV/AIDS, chronic mental illness, and/or chemical dependence and their families a plus. Bilingual - Spanish, a plus.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Knowledge of and experience with substance abuse counseling. Community minded, patient, creative, flexible, compassionate, and culturally sensitive to persons who are diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance abuse Extensive knowledge of community resources. Extensive knowledge of alcohol and substance abuse principals and practices. Knowledge of the HRA Desk Guide Responsible, organized, effective and efficient. Ability to work within a team and accomplish multiple assignments simultaneously. Excellent verbal, written and active listening communication skills. Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with other Comunilife employees, Federal, State, and City officials, professional and technical groups, clients, and the general public.
