Job Description


Title: Special Education Teacher
Location: Charleston, SC
Pay Rate: $45–$55 per hour + benefits

As a K–12 Special Education Teacher in Charleston, SC, you will play a key role in supporting students with diverse learning needs by delivering individualized instruction, collaborating with teams, and ensuring educational equity across settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs that reflect each student’s academic, social, and behavioral goals

  • Provide differentiated instruction and accommodations in small groups or individualized settings

  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and learning objectives

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support inclusion

  • Conduct formal and informal assessments to guide instructional planning

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations

  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions

Job Details

  • Position: Contract (with potential for renewal) in a school setting

  • Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday

  • Caseload: K–12 students, based on district assignment and certification area

Successful Candidates Possess

  • A valid South Carolina teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (required)

  • Experience in a special education classroom or inclusive setting (preferred)

  • Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, IEP development, and behavior strategies

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. Without sponsorship

Drew Anson is Chief Delivery Officer at Phaxis, a Workforce Solutions Company based in New York.

Drew is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of Services & Recruitment experience. In that time, he has supported numerous Fortune 100/500/1000 organizations across industries by providing global workforce solutions, namely resources and thought leadership for large-scale projects, implementations, and managed services.

Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
