Job Description


Title: Paraprofessional / Teacher Assistant / Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Location: Charleston, SC
Pay Rate: $25–$30+ per hour + benefits

As a K–12 school-based Paraprofessional, Teacher Assistant, or RBT in Charleston, SC, you will work alongside teachers and specialists to foster a supportive learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist lead teachers in delivering instruction, accommodations, and behavior supports

  • Support individual and small-group learning activities under the guidance of a certified teacher

  • Implement behavior intervention plans and collect data for RBT-qualified staff

  • Provide personal care, mobility assistance, and supervision to students with diverse needs

  • Help prepare instructional materials, classroom setups, and learning centers

  • Monitor and document student progress, reporting observations to the teacher or BCBA

  • Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to reinforce IEP and behavior goals

Job Details

  • Position: Contract (with option to renew) in a school setting

  • Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday

  • Caseload: Assigned based on district needs and your certification/experience

Successful Candidates Possess

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Paraprofessionals/Teacher Assistants)

  • Valid RBT certification (for RBT roles)

  • Experience or training in special education, behavior interventions, or early childhood settings (preferred)

  • Strong communication, observation, and organizational skills

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. Without sponsorship

Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
