Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) –Full-Time | K–1st grade School Job | Joliet IL
Location: Joliet, Illinois
 
Are you an SLPA looking for a school-based position in Joliet, IL? Phaxis Education is now hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathology Assistant for the 2025–2026 school year. This K–1st role offers hands-on experience supporting speech-language services in a dynamic educational environment.

Position Highlights:
  • Job Type: Contract for a Leave Coverage 
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, school hours
  • Location: Onsite at a public school in Joliet, Illinois
  • Caseload: Elementary, K-1st grade 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP
  • Implement IEP goals and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including service logs and student progress notes
  • Prepare materials and schedule therapy sessions
  • Assist with data collection and support student evaluations
  • Communicate clearly with students, families, and school staff
  • Follow state, district, and federal special education regulations
  • Attend training and school-based team meetings as needed
Qualifications:
  • Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or completion of an approved SLPA certification program
  • Active or pending Illinois SLPA license or certification
  • Prior experience in a school-based setting preferred
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available)

Drew is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of Services & Recruitment experience. In that time, he has supported numerous Fortune 100/500/1000 organizations across industries by providing global workforce solutions, namely resources and thought leadership for large-scale projects, implementations, and managed services.

Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
