Key Responsibilities:

The Associate Attorney will be responsible for the following:
  • Client Interaction: Meet with clients to gather details about their employment, the nature of the discrimination, and the circumstances surrounding their termination.
  • Case Preparation: Compile relevant documentation, including employment records, medical records, performance reviews, and correspondence related to the discrimination or termination.
  • EEOC Filings: File charges of discrimination with the EEOC, ensuring that all necessary details, dates, and supporting evidence are included.
  • EEOC Communication: Assist in gathering additional evidence or responding to inquiries from the EEOC during the investigation process.
  • Lawsuit Filing: Once a "Right to Sue letter is received, draft and file a lawsuit in the appropriate court.
  • Discovery and Depositions: Participate in discovery, depositions, and other pretrial processes to gather evidence and build the case.
  • Settlement Negotiations: Pursue settlement opportunities with opposing counsel and clients before the case proceeds to trial.
  • Trial Preparation and Presentation: If settlement is not reached, prepare for trial, including developing strategy, organizing evidence, and preparing witnesses. Represent clients in court to argue their case.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in Illinois.
  • 1-3 years of experience in employment law, preferably with a focus on litigation.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, and ADEA.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining high ethical standards.

Drew Anson is Chief Delivery Officer at Phaxis, a Workforce Solutions Company based in New York.

Drew is a seasoned executive with more than 13 years of Services & Recruitment experience. In that time, he has supported numerous Fortune 100/500/1000 organizations across industries by providing global workforce solutions, namely resources and thought leadership for large-scale projects, implementations, and managed services.

Prior to joining Phaxis predecessor firm Park Hudson in 2021, Drew spent three years at engineering technology and talent solutions firm, Collabera, as Director of Sales in North Carolina. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly eight years at Insight Global, most recently as Sales Manager of the Columbus, OH office.

He holds a degree from Central Michigan University in Sales & Marketing.
